Why have a string quartet?
A String Quartet is a versatile ensemble suited to most situations. It consists of 2 violins, a viola and a cello and we can also offer a flute for a change of colour. A quartet produces a warm rich sound, not too overpowering and is ideal for background music, adding elegance and charm to your event. Because acoustic instruments are used the quartet can move quickly and easily to different parts of the venue if required. This can be helpful if we are playing in one part of the venue for the welcome drinks (perhaps in the garden) and then need to be somewhere else for the wedding breakfast. It is also a suitable ensemble for both small and large venues.

Weddings are one of the most popular events for which string quartets are chosen. Not only have we played at wedding drink receptions and breakfasts but also for the wedding ceremonies themselves. String quartets are also a popular addition for business events, charity lunches and even birthday parties, dinner dances, anniversaries and christenings.

4tissimo takes a pride in it's versatility. We can perform a whole event of classical music or if preferred more modern popular music - equally we are happy and able to play a complete mixture if you don't have a particular preference. We also perform songs from the shows, jazz and some folk. We have a large selection of contemporary and classic pop songs in our repertoire, the largest in Devon, Cornwall and the South West.

The quartet has been playing together for 18 years and consequently have a large amount of experience of providing music and playing for special events, in particular weddings, and understand how they work. We appreciate that whilst your timings may seem set to run like clockwork, in reality that doesn't often happen. With us, you will not find that we will walk out in the middle of your wedding just because the time is up!

If you would like more information about the quartet please feel free to contact us with no obligation. We will do our best to assist you.

We perform regularly at wedding fairs throughout Devon and Cornwall. Come and find out more!
